About this book:
Reynardt Hugo is Dr Tertius Jonker in the Afrikaans soap Binnelanders and was a member of the Afrikaans pop group ADAM from 2011 to 2019. However, despite the many successes, tours, awards and accolades, he was a wounded and lost soul. Like thousands of men, Reynardt tried for many years to hide his pain by taking refuge in alcohol, cannabis, women and pornography. This is his honest account of the scars left by his parents’ divorce, the legacy of alcohol abuse in his childhood home, his weakness for women and the consequences of his lifestyle choices. It hasn’t been plain sailing and he has had to overcome many challenges along the way, but today Reynardt Hugo is a young role model. His life bears witness to the fact that God doesn’t remain silent when we suffer, and to how we can break through despair into hope with His help.
Readers say
“Kragtig, passievol en inspirerend . . . Reynardt Hugo se storie is eg en eerlik.”
