Biographical info

Mattys Michielse Walters was born on 23 January 1930 in Moorreesburg in the Swartland.

His first collection of poetry appeared in 1967 and received the Eugène Marais, Ingrid Jonker, and the WA Hofmeyr Prizes. He became known for his satirical poetry and published five collections of poetry.
