Ronel de Goede (Foster) debuted in 1993 with the poetry collection Skoop.
Skoop was nominated for the CNA Prize and awarded the Eugène Marais Prize for debut work.
De Goede is a professor in Afrikaans-Nederlands at the University of Stellenbosch.
