Lien, her brother and mother must move from their comfortable house in a leafy suburb to a block of flats after her attorney-dad is found guilty of fraud.
They struggle to survive, both financially and emotionally. Lien takes matters in her own hands when her mum’s alcoholism starts impacting negatively on their family life. In order to have money for the bare necessities, Lien disguises herself and starts begging on the street. It is in this improbable surroundings that Lien finds acceptance of who she is and confirmation of the person she wants to become.
