Kwansuis | Poetry & Poetry Anthologies
Piet van Rooyen
Human & Rousseau
The title of this collection of poetry means “quasi”, “ostensible” or “as if (it were)”. The role of nature and the accompanying underlying primordiality is probably the most important characteristic in these poems. Themes include (approaching) death, threats, relationships, fairytales, mythology and philosophy. One reader commented on the playful way in which some poems are presented. Seemingly clichéd expressions are used in a way that makes you smile and then gasp in surprise.
