Shomer Yisra’el: Beskermer van Israel (ePub) | Fiction
Marzanne Leroux-Van der Boon
It is the summer of 2006 in Jerusalem. The second Lebanese war has broken out. Marc, Rikvah and their baby son are caught up in the violent events surrounding them. When the war increases in intensity, it becomes clear that Marc will be conscripted without a doubt, sensitive artist or not. Their personal crisis deepens with the discovery that Rikvah has fallen pregnant again, at a time when she is burning to do her bit in defending her country as paramedic – something that Marc disapproves of very strongly.
In the midst of all this they come to know Henok and Sarah Kambungu, two South Africans who find themselves embroiled in a war on their first visit to Israel. After almost thirty years Henok is still carrying around like a heavy burden his dark memories of the Kassinga massacre during the border war in Namibia.
With the war raging around them, Rabbi Chaim Cohen, Marc’s father-in-law, has to face the greatest challenge of his life. How is he going to announce that Yeshua is indeed the Jewish Messiah, and what will be the consequences of such a confession?
