’n Dorp soos Silwer Streams (ePub) | General Fiction
Silver Streams is a town like any other in rural South Africa. There is a church and a café, a bowling club and a township, a policeman and a journalist, a former teacher, a deaf secretary and a gay shop assistant.
And a body.
Yes, of course the town also has a minister, and it is he who finds the body, tied to the pillar of a bridge just outside the town. Was it murder? The town is in a state of commotion. They say the body is that of an illegal immigrant. The policeman investigates; the journalist phones the story through to the Sunday paper, everyone is talking about it.
Everyone except the minister. He becomes even quieter, even more withdrawn. He withdraws to his inner room for his unrelenting inner conflict.
