Studying Congregations in Africa is the first book to address the particular contexts, problems and challenges facing Christian churches in Africa.

It was written to serve as a handbook in Practical Theology in the module Congregational studies. The emphasis is on theology as practised in Christian congregations, regardless of their denominational affiliation. The main purpose of the book is to develop leadership and to empower local congregations with a vision and methodology to deal with the major challenges facing them.
