Sandile & the silver city | Children's Fiction
Adie Wagener
Tafelberg
Sandile lives with his mother and grandmother amongst the green hills of Zululand. His father has gone to work in Johannesburg, and his letters are becoming fewer and fewer. Then Sandile and his mother go to the big, silver city to look for him. A warm, human story that portrays the lives of people in a squatter camp without any political agendas. It can be used as a read-aloud story for five- to seven-year-olds, or as a read-by-yourself story for eight- to ten-year-olds. Suitable for both first and second language readers and listeners.
