Koos Meyer: Lag-lag ’n legende | Humour: Collections & General
Koos Meyer , Deon van Zyl
Tafelberg
Koos Meyer is a legend. In primary school he was already an entrepreneur with the most unusual money-making plans. As a non-studying student at Stellenbosch he became famous for being a practical joker and chancer. And as a journalist, prospector, big game hunter, sailor, hotel manager, game warden and speech-maker he distinguished himself through his unusual way of doing things.
He never needed to be funny; he simply was. And hidden behind the cheerful mask is a depth that few are aware of. There are well-known and less well-known Koos stories in the book – nostalgic pleasure for his contemporaries, and an infectious introduction for younger readers. As Ollie Viljoen says: “There is only one Koos Meyer.”
