Astrid Lindgren has written more than 90 books, selling more than 120 million copies worldwide, but Pippi Longstocking probably remains her most popular character. The Afrikaans trilogy, magnificently translated by Nerina Ferreira, has been out of print for decades, but the facsimile editions are now available again by popular demand.
