Hendrik Januarie
Biographical info

Hendrik Januarie was born on October 16, 1941 in Amalienstein near Ladismith in the Cape Province. He completed matric at High School Elsiesrivier.

He worked as a clerk at various companies in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Beaufort West and was also a part-time pastor in the Full Gospel Church. After this, he worked for a number of years as head supply administration clerk on the government farm near Amalienstein. His debut volume of poems, Pro rata, was published in 1989. 18 years later, his second volume of poems, Nagjakkals, appeared.
